The first of many successions of talks planned by Oracle Academy in collaboration with universities in sub- Saharan Africa for the 2023 academic year to improve quality of IT education and skills development in educational institution commenced on 31st March 2023 in Ghana with the Accra Technical university in collaboration with the Computer Science department. More than three hundred of the students were engaged in a two`-hour session of various topics and activities. It was themed ‘Innovation as a tool for improved Technical Education’.
The speakers were Ransford Mills, Applications Account Manager, East West Africa, Oracle, Nicky le Jay, Principal Oracle Talent Advisor, Emmanuel Anguah, Cloud Sales Lead, Oracle WA, Eric Hagan, Services Account Manager, EMEA, Oracle, Bekere Amassoma, Oracle Academy Program Manager, Sub-Saharan Africa, Yao Roger Kouassi, Cloud Engineer and Wisdom Torgby, HOD Computer Science Department, Accra Technical University.

The event started with a welcoming remark by Welcoming Remarks: Wisdom Torgby, Head of Department, Computer Science Department, Accra Technical University after a brief general introduction by the MC Mr. Joseph Agyiri, a lecturer of the Computer Science department.
Mr Ransford Mills, Applications Account Manager, East West Africa gave the opening remarks on behalf of Oracle Academy, in his speech he urged the students to take this opportunity seriously and make follow up opportunities a must.
It was followed by an introduction of Oracle Academy activities/Demo by Bekere Amassoma, Oracle Academy Program Manager, Sub-Saharan Africa.
A presentation on Introduction to Oracle Cloud was done by Emmanuel Anguah, Cloud Sales Lead, Oracle WA after which there was a training session on Oracle Cloud Live Hands-on Lab, by Yao Roger Kouassi, Cloud Engineer, Oracle.
Nicky le Jay, Principal Oracle Talent Advisor took over with the Oracle Talent Advisory Presentation followed by Kevin Kabuye, Cloud Adoption Sales Consultant, Oracle University on Oracle University Presentation.
After all the interactive sessions, students still had the opportunity to ask very relevant and constructive questions which were answered by both the in person and online speakers. After that there was time for refreshment and networking opportunity for the students with the Oracle Ghana Team members who were present at the event.
